Remember Elephind? The “search many newspaper databases all at once” search engine for online newspapers? It was taken down in March 2024, and it is coming back. I am regularly in touch with DL Consulting in New Zealand, who are the creators of Elephind and also the creator of Veridian Software, the software that powers the newspaper collections of California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. And country-wide collections, such as Estonia, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, and Switzerland. Veridian’s databases number in excess of 200 million pages.
Here are some snippets from their Facebook Page that will give you many more details about Elephind 2.0

That’s exactly why we built it: to make it easier to access the past, no matter where it was preserved.
And the best part? The content always stays with the original institution — we just help you find it faster.
