Alaska Adding 55,000 Pages to Chronicling America

The State of Alaska is adding 55,000 pages to Chroniclimg America!  Here is part of the announcement from the Alaska Digital Newspaper Project:

October and November were exciting months here at the Alaska Digital Newspaper Project. We submitted 5 new batches of newspaper issues to the Library of Congress and all 5 were accepted! This means that in the next few months you should be able to find the following on Chronicling America:

-We will have several new titles online courtesy of the Wrangell Public Library, including the Fort Wrangel News (1898-1898), the Stikeen River Journal (1898-1899), the Alaska Sentinel (1902-1909), and the Wrangell Sentinel (1909-1953)

-We are expanding our coverage of the Daily Alaska Empire with new issues (1927-1928)

-Much more coverage of the Seward Daily Gateway and the Seward Gateway (1921-1933)

-More issues of the Kodiak Mirror (1948-1950)

-More issues of the Daily Progressive Miner (1916-1919)

-Issues of the the Nome Gold Digger (1903-1905)

-Also from Nome, we have more issues of the Nome Nugget (1925-1932, 1963), the Nome Daily Nugget (1906-1913), the Nome Weekly Nugget (1909-1913), the Nome Semi-Weekly Nugget (1904-1905), and the Nome Tri-Weekly Nugget (1905-1907) !!

-But wait that’s not all! We also have issues of the Mining Edition of the Nome Nugget (1906-1908), and the Mining and Dredging editions of the Nome Nugget (1910-1916) too!!!”
