Chronicling America Has 33 Types of Ethnic Newspapers in 28 Languages

Chronicling America (CA), which is the Library Of Congress’ Online Newspaper database grows slowly but steadily and has done so ever since 2005.

From the CA website: “The Chronicling America Historic American Newspapers collection provides access to select digitized newspaper pages produced by the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP), a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Library of Congress.”

Currently, the collection has over 4,130 titles from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The number of pages at the time of this publication is 21.6 million pages.

The papers are in 28 languages and 33 ethnicities. Below is a breakdown for each language and ethnicity, with links to the newspapers for each category. The number of issues is in parentheses.
