This just in from DL Consulting. the makers of Veridian Software, and the providers of Elephind, which provided a federated search of several newspaper databases, all at once.
Dear Elephind Community,
We’ve made the difficult decision to take Elephind offline. Over the past few years, the platform has been running on outdated technology, as it was first developed in 2012. This has led to security risks and increased hosting costs. Despite our efforts to maintain it, the time has come for a significant update.
We are currently exploring options for a complete redesign and rebuild of Elephind. While we are not sure if this is even a viable option, we believe it is necessary to ensure Elephind’s future security obligations and overall success. This process will take time and resources, and we appreciate your understanding and support.
